The first method of creating an artificial hymen was known as a ‘hymenorrhaphy‘, a form of cosmetic surgery where the hymen tissue is pulled back together so it can be ‘re-popped.’ The problem with the procedure is that it basically costs an arm and a vagina.
Now many Chinese street vendors offer artificial hymens or ‘maidenheads’, which inflate inside the vagina and can then be ‘popped’ open with a penis. There are many artificial hymen kits on the market now, such as Night Red, Virtuous Girl Red, and Joan of ARC Red. Disappointingly enough, I haven’t been able to find a link where one may purchase these online. Personally, I think I’m too old to try this, but if I ever decide to become a born again virgin, it will come in handy.

Sabrina, I don’t doubt that one could purchase such a dodgy item on Mott St. in Chinatown but I still don’t trust it and it sounds so ridiculously far-fetched that I can’t believe I am talking about it.
Even if it worked, I would probably be against it if (hypothetically) my wife asked me about it it because I fail to see the benefit in this. Maybe it’s me, but I don’t understand how this could help (even in a relationship) unless…
…maybe the woman in question was saving herself for marriage but was sexually assaulted (i.e. raped) before her wedding night. This is the only reason I can think of that a woman might want to do this.
I wonder if (even in such an extreme situation) it can be called a ‘benefit’. Really, who is it benefiting? How? If I had a fiance that was raped before we met, I think my first concern would be her emotional state and physical well-being.
I don’t see the traumatic physical ordeal of rape as something that needs to be ‘fixed’ so that my ego and pride remain intact.
My questions are this:
How and in what way does this contraption help HER at all or any other woman for matter? Is it really worth possible health risks?
I mean absolutely no offense, but I can’t see any other reason why a woman would want to do this simply for cosmetic reasons unless…
