Building on our last conversation regarding phlegm, it should be noted that I typically sneeze twice in a row; sometimes three times. Though many have argued, I really think that I sneeze more than the average bear.  I originally came up with this hypothesis when researching why I always sneeze when exposed to light, or if I have to sneeze, I look at the light.

sneeze-742474As it turns out, I have photic sneeze reflex:  a genetic  dominant trait which causes sneezing when exposed suddenly to bright light.   The condition affects 18-35% of the human population.  Once I found this out, I was absolutely convinced that I sneeze more than most people. The topic has met with so much contention that I’ve discussed it with co workers, who may be more exposed to my daily sneeze frequency.

Why anybody bothers to fight me on the idea that I sneeze more than others, I don’t know.  Needless to say, some have found it upsetting.  At any rate, I’ve now started to tally my daily sneezes and have asked a colleague to do the same so that I can compare the numbers.  I’m sure many of you will be happy to see this issue finally put to rest.
