With the onset of the Interweb, it’s become easy to engage in all types of sexual activity; surfing porn, meeting anonymously in chatrooms for banter, in hotel rooms for sex, sharing graphic images and engaging in mutual masturbation with strangers via webcams. This brings up the question: Is cybersex cheating on your partner?

If you asked my (asshole) ex, he’d say definitely. I disagreed for the win, pointing out that it’s not cheating if you never see or speak with the person. Then it would seem that cybersex is more innocent than porn, which I also have no problem with. (He also referred to smoking weed as ‘doing pot‘; enough said.) What do you think? Does sitting at your computer and engaging in sexual activity with someone on the Internet constitute infidelity?

My first thought was: “How can software identify your penis?” My second thought: “What’s ChatRoulette?” ChatRoulette is a website which pairs people randomly from around the world for webcam-based chats. At any point, either user can end the chat by starting another random connection. I had heard of the application previously, but in conversation with friends, I also learned that users are typically random guys showing their junk and jerking off.

Well ChatRoulette plans to do away with all of that by instituting penis-recognition software. Contrary to my first assumption, the platform isn’t able to identify your penis in particular (boo!), but rather, just identifies penises overall. This algorithm will filter out shots of male genitalia altogether.

Users debate whether tricks will prevent the software from effective filtering. One user commented, “What if a guy puts a tiny sombrero on his sausage in order to trick the software?” It’s a valid concern. Nevertheless, the website`s founder hopes that blocking such offending members will help clean up Chatroulette`s reputation. But don’t worry, Ladies, no one’s tried to block your vaj shots… yet.

A 28-year old man/nerdlover has been charged for using World of Warcraft to lure boys into emailing him nude pictures and videos of themselves. (Seriously, who wants naked pictures of pimply pubescent dorks?) The man had apparently accumulated a lot of ‘gold’ in the game World of Warcraft and was exchanging his gold for naked photos and video footage, including “live webcam videos of masturbation.”

Authorities discovered approximately 10,000 illegal pictures and 1200 videos of naked young boys ages 12 – 16 years old in the man’s possession. The man admitted to receiving the photos and videos (obvi), but insists that he didn’t pressure the boys into sending him anything (just ePaid them). Click here for more.
