Picture 3From March 2002 to March 2003, the US Government paid more than a thousand 15- to 17-year-olds $40 each to answer questions concerning their sex lives, sex acts, homosexual experiences, contraception usage, and discussions they have had with their parents about sex. (PS. This was NOT a chat line, but perhaps should be.)

The questions started with the general inquiry, ‘At any time in your life, have you ever had sexual intercourse, made love, had sex, or gone all the way’ and progressed to ‘Sexual relations between two adults of the same sex are all right. Do you strongly agree, agree, disagree, or strongly disagree?’

The information was used only for statistical research as the basis for reports and studies on fertility, marriage, cohabitation, contraception, related issues and found that:

–30 percent of those 15-17 “had ever had sexual intercourse”
– 42.5 percent of those 15-19 “had sexual intercourse during the previous 12 months”
– 8.4 percent had “had sexual experience with same-sex partner”
– 5.7 percent of those aged 15-19 had had sex by age 14, 13.1 percent by age 15, 27.9 percent by 16, 44.4 percent by age 17.
– 42 percent of teens 15 to 17 had had oral sex with an opposite-sex partner,
– 5.6 percent had had anal sex with an opposite sex partner
– 8.4 percent had had sexual experience with a same sex partner.
– 61.6 percent of teens 15-to-17 had talked with a parent about how to say no to sex;
– 51.7 percent talked about methods of birth control
– 39.3 percent talked about where to get birth control
– 56.5 percent talked about sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

Sex predators everywhere anxiously await publications stemming from this research.

After polling myself, I found the following:

    - If I were still 15-17, I’d totally lie about my sexual experience.
    - If I were still in college, I’d be 92% more likely to lie about my sexual experience than when I was 15-17.
    - I am currently not commenting on how likely I am to lie about my sexual experience – whether or not I have had or am having any (sexual experiences) right now. Seriously. I’m totally not telling you anything, narc.

PS: I’m also not telling you whether this blog is or is not considered by yours truly to be a sexual experience.

    PPS: Brian’s a fag.
